Humpy or ‘Humpy
Dump' – Is a Black and White Sheltie Cross, there's
a sad story to start of Humpys life. Once again we bought him
from a Pet Shop in Cheshire, we'd been watching him for ages.
He we firstly in an enclosure with lots of other Boars which he
obviously loved but for some reason one day the pet shop had decided
to isolate him, he became very withdrawn. My boyfriend had become
really fond of ‘Humpy' and after a couple of weeks we decided
to buy him.
We put him in a room which was quiet but
which we go into regularly, unfortunately ‘Humpy' was very
depressed and wouldn't come out at all. We had to act fast so
we contacted a local breeder who thankfully had a fully weaned
4 ½ week old boar, which we've called ‘Patch'. So
we introduced them and I'm pleased to say they are the best of
friends now. Patch really looks up to his older pal, Humpy and
has really brought him out of himself.
Humpy still doesn't like being held but
he really enjoys coming to see us by the side of his hutch –
on his terms, which is a real achievement.
He and Patch love chasing each other round
the hutch and jump heaps.
